专辑介绍

EX CORDE was recorded in 2013 and 2014 by the Western Michigan University Chorale in Kalamazoo's Holy Family Chapel, located on the Sisters of St. Joseph Nazareth campus. The title translates as, "from the heart." The title highlights our ensemble's mission -- to present heartfelt and deeply emotional renditions of classic choral repertoire meant to move and inspire the listener. ||||| UNIVERSITY CHORALE is Western Michigan University’s flagship choral ensemble and represents the university at home and throughout the world. Western Michigan University’s acclaimed choral program is home to nine choirs. Founded in 1903 by Harper C. Maybee, Chorale has a long history of excellence in performance and competition, and the ensemble has appeared alongside professional ensembles such as the Kalamazoo Symphony Orchestra and Seraphic Fire. In 2013, Chorale was awarded second place in the collegiate choral division of The American Prize. For several decades, Chorale has consistently performed to great acclaim at state, regional, national, and international choral conferences, competitions, and festivals. Chorale has released numerous recordings; most recently, the ensemble premiered and recorded Paul Lansky’s choral cantata, "Contemplating Weather," for Bridge Records. In 2010, they were featured alongside the professional choir Seraphic Fire in the acclaimed release of Monteverdi's "1610 Vespers." ||||| KIMBERLY DUNN ADAMS is the Director of Choral Activities at Western Michigan University, where she directs the University Chorale, Collegiate Singers, and Grand Chorus.
